STOP Signs

STOP!  stop now!  The prestigious Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to President Barack Obama last Friday.  Any normal, patriotic American would be cheering - proud of this moment in history.  But, no, not the RIGHTeous Americans - they are questioning his accomplishments, questioning the Nobel-ites, questioning Obama.  My question is "what in the hell is wrong with this country?".    Gnashing of teeth when our President wins a distinguished award and cheers of joy when he fails to bring the Olympics to our country - something is wrong with this scenic highway.
I must admit that I was a wee bit surprised at this honor bestowed upon our President - but I was thrilled and do understand why he was honored.  I remember at his inauguration speech when he said "we will extend a hand to all nations" - hmmm, unlike Bush, Obama will be willing to talk to our enemies.  I remember when he said he would reach out to "Islamic" nations - seems like a good thing.  Maybe this isn't enough to win that Nobel prize.  How about this scenario:  Maybe  the prize was awarded to US - we the people.  Perhaps the Nobel committee gave the award to Americans for finally ending 8 years of stupidity, arrogance, war-mongering & threats.  Can you swallow it now?
In honor of this achievement - I'm going to extend a hand - to all my friends on the Right.  For this week, and this week only, I will listen to your views without trying to run you over with my VW. (Although, it would be kind of difficult to run you over when you are driving those huge SUVs )  OOPS.
I will try my best not to throw things at the blonde twit on Morning Joe, I promise to stop trying to devise ways to get rid of Glenn Beck,  and I will try to stop filling prescriptions of oxycontin to send to Rush.  I do this for PEACE.
