It's been a while since I needed to drive down the therapy highway - but Al is riding shotgun and I have the bug in 4th gear. Headed to therapy - I need it or I may hurt someone.
Three things are bugging the hell out of me. Item 1. "It's my God-given right." I heard a tea party moron spout this the other day. I kept thinking about this statement. What the hell is a god-given right? This 'tea-hadist' said it was his god-given right to carry a loaded weapon to rallies and wherever he wanted. hmmmm. After thinking about this and recalling all the sermons that I have heard, I realized my clergy never told me about any god-given rights. So - thinking I was being snubbed by the MAN, I asked my priest-friend, Mike, if I had god-given rights. "No one has God-given rights - God has blessed us - but has not given us rights." So the next time some hoosier or tea-hadist suggest he has a god-given right - ask him exactly where those are mentioned in the BOOK.
Item 2. The group that is praying for Obama's death. I can barely stay on my side of the road when I hear this crap. Supposed Christians that spout Bible verses and then join groups that encourage the death of POTUS - Even if this is a joke - not funny. Its no secret that I strongly, very strongly disliked Bush. I never wished him death. I don't even wish that for Caribou Barbie. Hate radio (Limbo) and Fox (Beck & inS-hannity are going to incite someone to do something that will cause great harm. InS-hannity recently called his audience Tim McVeigh wanna-be's. Isn't something wrong with this picture?
Item 3. The First Amendment. Can we put an amendment to an amendment? I want to rename it - The First Amendment with a side of Common Sense. Supreme Court just upheld a case that will continue to allow the filming and distribution of Crush Videos. And what is a crush video? Its a video where some scum-bag, vile, sick individuals crush kittens and puppies. These horrific videos are then sold - yes - people buy them.
